The game is easiest explained as a viking themed Minecraft for a more mature audience. And even though the game is in early access it feels almost complete, especially if you account for the cheap price.
Explore the different biomes, by foot or build a ship for you and your friends to use.
Harvest resources, build a base, craft gear and defeat the different bosses that are hidden in different locations in this procedurally-generated world.
The graphics aren't great, the building materials can feel a bit limited at times. But that is all forgiven cause the overall experience is magical.
Co-op
Up to ten players can help each other on one server. You can play PvP but the game really shines when you combine your efforts to build a village, harvest resources and prepare your defenses. And when your base feels secured it's time to explore.
The feeling when the entire crew gets on a boat to explore a new island, not knowing what you will find or if you will ever get back alive is priceless.
The coop in this game is great, the only downside is that having above four players on one server has the tendency to become laggy. But we expect this to be fixed during the Early access updates that are coming.
